Reformer Pilates offers a challenging yet low impact way to build strength, improve mobility, and develop better control of your body.
Using the reformer machine, each movement works against adjustable resistance, helping to activate deeper stabilising muscles while improving posture,
balance and overall movement quality.
During class you’ll move through a series of controlled, flowing exercises designed to strengthen the whole body, with a particular focus on core stability and joint mobility.
With only six reformers in each session, our small group setting allows instructors to provide individual guidance and ensure everyone is moving safely and effectively.
If you’re new to Reformer Pilates, we recommend starting with one of our Beginner classes.
No. Most of our clients start as beginners.
We offer Beginner classes throughout our schedule, and we also run a 6 week Beginner Reformer block specifically designed for those new to Reformer Pilates. This structured programme helps you build confidence, learn the fundamentals, and progress safely.
You can find more information about the beginner block here: https://methodreformer.co.uk/new-to-reformer/
Our Beginner classes are individual sessions designed to introduce you to the reformer and its key movements.
Our 6-week Beginner Block is a structured course that runs over six consecutive weeks at the same time each week. This allows you to gradually build confidence, improve your technique, and progress in a consistent and supportive environment.
You can find more information about the beginner block here: https://methodreformer.co.uk/new-to-reformer/
You don’t need to be flexible to start Reformer Pilates.
Improving flexibility and mobility is actually one of the main benefits of reformer training. The adjustable resistance and supportive design of the reformer allow exercises to be adapted to suit different abilities and fitness levels.
Many clients start with limited mobility and gradually improve their strength, control and range of movement over time.
Not at all. Reformer Pilates is suitable for a wide range of fitness levels. The resistance on the reformer can be adjusted to suit each individual, allowing beginners and more experienced clients to train safely within the same class. Our instructors will provide modifications where needed.
Please wear comfortable gym clothing that allows you to move freely.
Grip socks are required for all participants to help maintain stability on the reformer and for hygiene while using the equipment.
You are welcome to bring your own or purchase a pair at the studio.
Yes. We have a changing room with two private changing cubicles for clients to use before and after class. Please note that we do not currently have shower facilities onsite.
Reformer Pilates can be beneficial for many people. However, if you have a current injury or medical condition, we recommend seeking clearance from your GP or physiotherapist before attending. Please also inform us of any injuries when booking so our instructors can advise appropriately and offer suitable modifications where possible. Your safety is always our priority.
Yes. For safety and insurance reasons, our classes are suitable for those aged 16 and over.
Our classes are limited to a maximum of six people, allowing instructors to provide personalised guidance and ensure everyone moves safely and effectively.
For best results, we recommend attending 1 to 2 classes per week. Regular sessions help build strength, improve mobility and develop better body awareness over time. Consistency is key, and many clients find that attending weekly helps them progress safely and steadily.
